Yeeeee-Ow! That's my happy sound!

Home sweet Home Pictures, Images and Photos

I am proud to announce that we are currently making our first trip home to Houston with a load of our belongings!

Carl got a tip off from one of his friends that Triad was hiring in Houston, paying the same amount as Higdon in Dallas. He called the Super's office at 8:00 this morning and they told him he was hired, show up tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. for your paperwork and a potty test.

So he called me. I was dancing and singing with Boscoe (BTW, that dog does NOT like to dance with his mommy, he gets really excited and his tail hurts me!) We were jamming out to my iPod, packing up the kitchen, then the bathroom, then the closet, the living room, and finally, the refrigerator. In the cooler the freezer contents goes!

We are only driving the truck back tonight so we did not get a chance to bring everything, however, everything is packed for either tomorrow night or Saturday.

DID I MENTION HOW GOSH DARN EXCITED AM?!

Back to my fabulous husband that wanted to get me home.....

He talked to his Super at Higdon and Ron said that he was really sad to see Carl go but if this was the best decision for us than he understood and wished us luck. Ron also told Carl that he would always have a place at Higdon Construction whenever he was ready to come back.

So here we go on another adventure...this one is sure to be THE BEST!

We even got invited to a Halloween party by my friend/realtor Tonya tomorrow night and I got an email from Jason Lebeda that he also lives in a suburb of Houston!

I've already got a fabulous baked potato bar neighborhood party stewing in my brain! Eeek! So happy!

Hope everybody else's day is turning out as good!

Daddy, Mommy, Cow and baby

We went to go get the truck wen Carl got off work last night and I almost fell out of the passeger seat of my car when I saw THIS!

All things wonderful...it's the least I've see it since 2007! Is yours even lower where you're at?!

When we got home, we started off the evening with yummy corned Beef and Cabbage for dinner (We weren't together for St. Patrick's Day and well, corned beef and cabbage is always really appetizing to both Carl and myself, so we feasted on Irish tradition. We have this condition that we call I-can't-wait-itis where we eat traditional meals at awkward times. What can I say? Carl married a Christmas in June kinda gal...

Then daddy wrestled with Boscoe and the baby....HIS baby...we bought Boscoe a backpack so that he could burn off some extra energy. APBT's have a lot of energy and we usually take him on a mile walk when Carl gets home. HOWEVER, he still runs around the house like a banshee when we get home, so we bought a sport pack and were going to put my little 5 lb weights to it...HE WAS NOT HAING ANY OF THAT!

I chased him a round th house for half an hour and I was getting really frustrated because he wasn't listening to me. Turns out he just REALLY hates it. He sits, rolls over, crawls and always DOWN when he's told so I was getting hurt that he wouldn't sit still for he backpack. I assume it might be because his previous owners (Before he was taken in by his awesome foster parets through HPPL) maybe tried to train or fight him (He's scared bout random thigs.)

I just wanted to share the awesome pictures of Boscoe, his baby and daddy! He was plum tuckered out after the aformentioned hot pursuit!

Not quite Walt Whitman....

I would like to think that I am an eloquent writer, but apparently when it comes to my husband, I get all mushy, gooshey, whooshey, vocabulary of a 5th grade, "Roses are Red", kinda brain waves. Eh, I'm in love. Here's my poem!

The food was laid out, the cake was stacked high,
I breathed shallow breaths with my father by my side.

The roses were red and the carnations were white,
The butterflies in my stomach had barely taken flight.

The piano was playing, the guests were all set,
My mind drifted to the first night that we met.

Who knew that we would ever see each other again,
It was all a part of Heavenly Father’s great plan.

We didn’t exchange numbers, but little did we know,
We’d see each other again within 2 months or so.

Another day, where I worked back then,
You called out my name, recognizing a friend.

We went out to eat and you dropped me off at home,
3 more months passed and neither one of us phoned.

Out of the blue we started to talk about all things,
You said “let’s get married…but I don’t have a ring.”

A little reserved I thought back on our past,
Ours is a love that will always last.

Without hesitation I told you yes,
Some say we were hasty but we knew it was for the best.

Marriage isn’t perfect, it’s love; patient and kind,
You learn to compromise, it’s takes learning and time.

Thank you for being my husband and making my dreams come true,
It’s been a wonderful two years, all because of you.

#68. Makayla’s 1st Birthday Cake

My precious little goddaughter is turning 1 on September 23, 2008!

So we couldn’t very well let her have any ol’ cake for her birthday now could we? (Lucky, for auntie Rose that #68 on my 101 in 1001 also happened to be: Bake/decorate someone's wedding/birthday/special occasion cake.)

I also have nieces and nephews that live in Kansas, Ohio, etc. but I wasn’t with them for their birthdays this year, but bet your bottom dollar, their cakes would be as fabulous if I were there.

Now I have some s’plainin’ to do, and by that I have to tell that I originally started with a decorated cake from Wal-Mart. (Our house in Texas is unknown in damage from Hurricane Ike and this is my last week of work, as well as spending as much time with friends and family in Albuquerque area as possible, makes for a tough one….)

Here is the photo of the cake Kelly (Makayla’s mom) wanted…

Here’s what we ended up with:
(The blank space abov the one is where we will put the birthday candles that spell out "Happy Birthday" in alternating pink and purple letters.)

Here is a picture of the cake right out of the store and the production.

4th of July weekend

What a fabulous weekend!

I was in Texas with Carl and Alex was there too! He came out west for a little adventure and work...but we can't forget to have a little fun and play!

We watched the fireworks at Splashtown Park on Friday, went to Putt-Putt miniature golf at a brand new "range" 3 minutes from the house on Saturday and then Church, Brunch and nappy-time Sunday. We got on Craigslist to see what freebies were available online, a creme de la free garage saling creme, if you will, and the highlight of the weekend was.....*drum roll please*....duhn-tee-da-duhn.....We found a free golf club set for Alex!!! Topping it all off with a T-Bone steak dinner to boot!

Here are some pictures to hold you over till next time!

Love, Me

A favorite video at our house

Tucano's

If you would have seen this after the meal Carl, Sue and I had....you probably couldn't have handled it! We didn't think we could with it being the size of the plate...which was about 12 inches long! We did pretty good though, here's to the cake!
